When selecting a typeface or font for headings, subtitles, and body text use easy to read fonts for simple and effective graphic design. The eye finds it hard to scan multiple typefaces, so stick to a simple collection of fonts. Remember, less is more. Choose a font that has an extensive selection of varying weights so you have options when creating your designs.

Whenever possible, use the golden ratio to create type scale that is efficient and smart. For example, let’s say you’re trying to find a body font size to go with your header font size of 25. You could then divide 25 by 1.618 to get a suggested font size of 15.45px, or 16px and voilà you have used the golden ratio. Using the golden ratio you can easily create headings, subtitles and body text in a flash.
